UPDATE: Another Police Related Death In The UK.

The IPCC have released a statement regarding the death of a 20 year old man in Hackney, known on Twitter as "Rash".

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has begun an independent investigation into police contact with a man who died following an incident in Hackney, London in the early hours of Saturday morning (22 July 2017).

The IPCC was informed by the Metropolitan Police that at around 1.45am on Saturday 22 July 2017 officers requested a car travelling in the Kingsland Road/Middleton Road area of Hackney to stop.

A passenger in the car, a 20 year old man, left the scene and was followed on foot by an officer into a nearby shop.

The man became unwell and first aid was provided by a police officer, police medic and paramedics. The IPCC has obtained evidence which indicates an object was removed from his throat at the scene. The man was then transported to the Royal London Hospital, where he sadly died soon afterwards.

The IPCC declared an independent investigation at 3:10am and investigators were deployed to the scene and to the post-incident procedure.

Initial accounts have been taken from a number of non-police eye witnesses who saw the incident, as well as the police officers involved.

CCTV footage from inside the shop and police body worn video has been gathered and viewed.

The man’s family have been informed and an investigator met with them to explain the IPCC’s investigation and role.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the Kingsland Road/Middleton Road area of Hackney at this time. Witnesses should make initial contact with investigators by emailing witness_contact@ipcc.gsi.gov.uk(link sends e-mail)

So the assumptions are by many is that "Rash" was a drug dealer, who was trying to hide evidence.

Sainsbury's Have Started Tagging Tins Of Ackee.

So is this how bad things have become?

Sainsbury's have started tagging tin's of Ackee.

"Like really???"

This is the first time I have seen tin's of ackee security tagged.

If you're from a Caribbean household you'll know this fruit is a part of Jamaica's national dish. Ackee and Saltfish.

Facebook user, Toby Taylor posted a picture which shows that a Sainsbury's branch has decided to tag their tins of ackee.  

WTF?!?!

Have they noticed a rise in tins of ackee going missing? "They better keep an eye on those packets of saltfish too"...lol

As Toby stated in his Facebook post - "Bet you don't security tag the fucking hummus do you."

Very good point. When you go in to Sainsbury's they sell bottles of Olive Oil which can sometimes cost more than a meal and they're not security tagged, so why are these £3.80 tin's of Ackee?

Is this showing signs of racial profiling or is it just a coincidence?

The Jenner Sisters Fuq Up Again!!!

This time they've gone wayyyyy over the line!!!

Kendal and Kylie released pictures showing their new T-Shirt designs for their Kylie and Kendall range.

The T-shirts are pictures of legendary musicians with the sister's old Instagram pics printed on top. The music icons that I and black twitter have a huge issue with them using was Tupac and Biggie.

Nobody that mattered because Christopher "Notorious B.I.G" Wallace's mother has taken to her Instagram to let the Jenner girls and us know, "They had no right!!!"

Shaunie Investigates: #Corbyn4PM?

Following the Grenfell Tower fire, the UK have come to see what the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, really thinks of the people of London. She has shown a lack of genuine care and compassion towards the victims affected by this incident. Jeremy Corbyn made it a priority to visit the victims and residents of the fire whilst Theresa May chose to visit the emergency services and stay within safe distance of any questions that needed to be answered. Now I appreciate what the fire service have done but they're alive, they went home to their families. What about the victims? What about the residents?

Theresa May showed that she has no connection with the people that make up the majority of London. It's sad to think that if this fire had happened two weeks earlier the outcome of the election would of been so different. Jeremy Corbyn would of been the definite winner.

Jeremy cares about the people.

Theresa May doesn't care about the people, nor the people who have been affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, like she doesn't care about the minority people and the poor in the UK. 

The youth came out and voted for Corbyn because they wanted a change - they want a leader that believes in them.

We as a people have a choice and we choose not to have Theresa May as our leader - we never chose her in the first place!!!!

Grenfell Tower Block Fire - What I Know So Far.

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire in a 24-storey block of flats in North Kensington, London, at 12:54am on Wednesday, 14th June 2017.

The Grenfell Tower Block was left engulfed in flames which spread very quickly affecting both the inside and outside of the block. The fire is said to have started in one of the flats due to a fridge exploding, but this is yet to be confirmed - although some media outlets are running with this.i.e The Sun Newspaper.

The TMO (Tenancy Management Organisation) block had recently undergone a 1.4M refurbishment which is said to have included the outside of the block being covered in cladding to make it more appealing to the eye although the TMO have said it was also "for insulation".

Grenfell Tower is within eyeshot of the Shepherd's Bush Westfield's shopping centre and has many newly-built buildings surrounding it, so the cladding was definitely a way for the block to "fit in".

It has been confirmed by news outlets that the council chose to use the cheaper cladding on this block, which happened to be the more flammable one.

The price difference in the panels is so small but the effect this decision had is so huge.

OMG!!!! DJ Khaled has given me "Another one" and I am very please.

Khaled's new song featuring Drake, titled "To The Max" is my kind of song and will definitely be a Summer hit.

When I first heard this song, I instantly thought, "Wait I've heard this before." Something about the song sounded familiar and after listening over and over to the song, I remembered.

"To The Max" samples T2's 2007 hit single, "Heartbroken". I liked the song "Heartbroken" when it first came out and I think when you hear a song sample a song that you like you tend to be more drawn to the new song.

Jamaican Reggae Artiste, Charly Black performed his hit song, "Party Animal" live on the Wendy Williams.

Charly Blacks performance was dope. He's voice sounded like the recorded version I've heard so many times on iTunes. Even the ad-libs..."Ohhhh" were on point and the acapella at the end..."Woiiii!!!"
This song along with Konshens "Bruk Off Yah Back" are on my top five reggae playlist at this moment, so yes I was in full "Jamaican Mode" during this performance. "I was there in my head."

Party Animal was released in 2015 and has now - finally, made a huge impact outside of Jamaica, especially in countries like Spain, South America and Mexico where it was certified Diamond - the first time a Jamaican artist has achieved this in Mexico.

Jamaican artist are used to hearing their music being played by in the dances or even on the radio but for a Jamaican artist, who are rarely able to get a visa to America, to be able to perform their song on an American daytime programme is a big thing and as someone who is Jamaican and has invested a lot of time in the Jamaican culture and music I am so proud.

Giggs understands he's no "Hollywood Star" (his words) but he also knows he's famous and what comes with the territory of being famous, but there are things which I believe should be a "No No!!!"

If you see Giggs out with his children, especially when his baby is in his arms, do not ask for a picture.

This is something that shouldn't even need to be said, but it seems that people really believe that because they listen to his music and watch his videos on YouTube, then he is "always on the job."

Well no, before anything, Giggs is a Father and that comes before anything and anyone - including his fans.

I have just seen this story on ABC News' Instagram page and it's so beautiful.

Special education teacher, Kimberly Wimbish posted this video to her Facebook page of her surprising student, Jamias Howard with his graduation cap and gown.

With all the negativity happening at this moment it's nice to see moments like this.

I wish I had teachers like this when I was in school.

Terror Attack In Manchester.

Last night Manchester Arena was the target for what the police and media have called a terror attack.

As people were leaving an Ariana Grande concert witnesses say two explosions went off.

Greater Manchester Police initially put this message on their Twitter account letting people know that an incident had taken place at the Manchester Arena.

Greater Manchester Police done their best to keep the public aware of what was happening in Manchester, they later confirmed that there had been a number of fatalities but did not know how many.

The latest update from the police has confirmed that 22 people have died and more than 50 people have been injured. Those amongst the dead and injured were children who had attended the concert to see one of their favourite artist and now some have died and those who haven't their lives have changed forever.

Update 24/05/2017

Police have released the identity of the Manchester terror attack. Salman Abedi, 22, was born in Manchester but police have said he lived in a very tight-knit Libyan community.

"How do you live in a tight-knit Libyan community within the UK?" This is the question many people will ask. 

Abedi, had recently travelled back from Libya which is where he seemed to have made his final decision to go through with this attack.

Libya was one of the six countries on Donald Trump's travel ban list so I can only imagine that this will reinforce Trump's request for this travel ban to be actioned.

What will this mean for the UK?

The terror threat has been increased as expected to critical but what happens after? This is the first time in a decade that the terror threat has been categorised as critical people are in fear and Muslim's are being targeted.

A Mosque has been firebombed since the Manchester Attack and Muslim's have been verbally abused in the streets. I wish that people understood this isn't about hating each other, this is about coming together.

Following the attack at the Manchester Arena Piers Morgan has said that the Muslim people should be the ones to get rid of radicalised Muslim's, but then you have to ask, "What can Catholics do about paedophilia? What can Christians do about racism? What can Muslim's do about ISIS?"

Official Charts Call Katy Perry The Queen Of Woke

So now that Katy Perry has switched roles with Miley Cyrus the Official Charts think it's okay to call Katy the 'Queen of Woke'.

Katy Perry is a white woman who like Miley has jumped on the "Black Wave" and is now getting congratulated for it.

The word 'Woke' has begun to be used more within the black community, especially in America. It is used in reference to being 'awake to the racism that is happening in the world.'

So I would love to know how Katy Perry has become the Queen of Woke.

Is she black and has an understanding of the oppression that black people have to endure on a daily basis.

Has she even done anything for the black culture aside from appropriate it.

This is what happens when there is a limited number of black people working for a company. Words are used that shouldn't be because there is no one to educate the non-black on what they mean and nobody seems to care to learn.

Little Mix Fans Not Happy With New Single Featuring Rapper, Stormzy.

I'm not a Little Mix follower/fan so I don't really know much about their songs. No disrespect to them, it's just that their music isn't "my kind of music".

I will say their work ethic is great. They are hard working ladies and they have come very far. They have a formula which is suitable for a rap feature.

I don't usually know what albums or singles Little Mix have coming out, but after seeing on my Twitter timeline that Little Mix's new single, "Power", will be featuring UK Rapper, Stormzy and a few of Little Mix's fans which are called "Mixers" were not too happy, me being me, I had to do a little research as to why.

Of course me being me as well, I automatically thought. "Oh, y'all mad because there's gonna be a  rapper on the track." but after reading some of the tweets I see that, "Y'all mad because there's gonna be a rapper on the track."

Black Chat: Esther vs Nunu??

Episode 11 of BkChatLDN  was very interesting and some things were said by the panel, especially, Nunu, that left me very shocked.

I haven't watched BKChat for a while so it was good to see my now favourite panel member, Corey from the Caribbean. who always sets 'ish' straight and sieves out any BS and Riva who made some good points on this topic. Even one of my least favourite members, Lucas kind of redeemed himself in my eyes.

Wild one, Nunu made some very daring comments regarding her sex life. She admitted to allowing a man to perform cunnilingus on her whilst she was on her menstrual cycle.

Wiley Announces Release Date Of His Autobiography, 'Eskiboy'.

The Godfather of Grime, Wiley took to Instagram over to weekend to announce that his Autobiography titled 'Eskiboy', will be released later this year. "Thursday 2nd November 2017 to be exact." 
No disrespect to the "Godfather" but being familiar with Wiley and his non-commitment to release dates I will look at this date as a provisional one.

The first time I had heard of this person called "Wiley" was when I heard "Wearing My Rolex". I didn't know too much about Wiley or even the Grime genre but you can learn a lot in nine years.

By watching interviews like the ones Wiley has had with 'NFTR' and Vlad TV, I have seen a person that is very candid and realistic about himself.

If any girl was going to be in this video it had to have been Amber. She's not in the "typical video girl box", she adds character. A lil grit. Raw sex appeal. Speaking of "Raw". The video had a very authentic, raw feel. The visionary was very expressive and reflected certain events that have happened within the black community lately.

The video has already had over 5 Million views and has only been out for two days. 

Kim & Kanye Introduce 'The Kids Supply'.

I am not surprised I was not left feeling excited after seeing Kim and Kanye's new kid's clothing range, The Kids Supply.

I have kids and I love buying kids clothing, but nothing in this range will be on my checklist.

It's one of the most lucrative businesses in the world, Kanye loves clothing and Kim loves any reason to give the impression that she knows "stuff", so why wouldn't they create a kid's clothing range.

Kim took to Twitter to announce that she and Kanye have created a kid's range called, The Kids Supply which will be launched on Midday PST, Friday 5th May 2017/8pm BST.

Is this something that excites me? No.

Is this something I have been looking forward to? No. 

We all know Kanye prides himself on being a clothing designer but we also know Kim is just a clothes horse.

Alkaline Show Cancelled In London

Now I have to start by saying, this unruly behaviour had nothing to do with the genre of music or the fact it was a "Jamaican set-up."

It had to do with the people in the area.

Brixton may be getting an upgrade but the same foolishness is still there. People who live near or in the vicinity who don't mind leaving their homes to gain entry into a club for free or just to cause trouble because they haven't got fuq all to do with themselves.

Last night, Jamaican Artiste Alkaline was set to perform in the O2 Brixton Academy alongside UK Rapper, Chipmunk but things kicked off before they had even made it on stage.

People fighting outside the venue, windows and doors breaking and security having to hold back hundreds of people.

The venue owners and promoters didn't have to go far to get law enforcement, Brixton Police Station is right across the road from the O2, so when the police came... "Everyting Lock Off"

The police locked of Brixton Hill and brought out the tear gas for the people.

This is something that is happening a lot and this is why the clubs no longer want to hire out their venues to black/ Jamaican promoters or any party which advertises 'Bashment'.

I bet this is the last time The O2 will be allowing this type of event to happen at one of their venues again.

BKChatLDN New York?

I've been wanting to add a new item to my blog for the longest and as I'm the 'Self-Proclaimed' best at giving practical advice I thought I'd start a "Sunday Solution" feature.

I'll give guidance and solutions to things I believe need a little fix-up.

Zara Outrage 🐸

It was Moncler last year. This year Spanish clothing retailers, Zara have been causing waves on the Twitter-Sphere regarding a new skirt that they have recently launched.

The new denim skirt features a frog which many people have likened to 'Pepe the Frog', a well-known cartoon character that has now become a Meme phenomenon, but for all the wrong reasons.

During the 2016 US Elections Pepe was linked to Donald Trump and many media outlets associated the character with white supremacist and Neo-Nazi groups, which the creator, Matt Furie initially seemed to think that this was "just a phase". That changed when The ADL (The Anti-Defamation League) added Pepe to their racist symbol database although they did say not all Pepe Memes/pictures were portraying racist connotations. This time Furie showed great trepidation and has since partnered with The ADL to create a #SavePepeCampaign.

Zara are yet to respond to the criticism they have been getting on Twitter and in the media but the skirt no longer seems to be on their website. 👀

Martina Big - The Tanned Barbie?

Yesterday, UK Daytime show, This Morning had a very interesting guest on their sofa who received a lot of negative comments on social media.

Martina Big has spent over £40,000 on boob jobs and tanning injections to look like what she calls an 'Exotic Barbie'. Ruth and her husband Eamonn were interviewing this lady and they both came across as very judgemental.

A conversation about bullying and This Morning's anti-bullying campaign, (#BeKind) had taken place less than an hour before Martina came on, so I felt that by Eamonn asking the audience at home "What do you think?" and Ruth's sanctimonious attitude was just encouraging name-calling, negative comments and very uncomfortable viewing.
