Adidas Originals x Stormzy |
The range features the Adidas Three Stripes along with a reflective design and Stormzy's 'Merky' stamp, it also comes in three colourways, with one being exclusive to JD Sports (Night Cargo).
The range will officially launch, November 30th, however you can get some pieces now on the JD Sports website.
The prices for the pieces are not necessarily pocket-friendly...£400 for a tracksuit, and I don't care how reflective it is or that it's available early.
Can Stormzy's fans afford this, furthermore, should they be expected to spend this amount of money?
I refuse to spend over £200 on atracksuit jacket which doesn't even have a hood or £180 for a pair of tracksuit pants which are not giving you any additional comfort or support.
Obviously, I understand that Stormzy doesn't necessarily have a say over how much each piece will cost but he does have a say in whether he will collaborate with a company that thinks it is smart pricing clothing this way.
This isn't a price for the average Joe, yet the clothing looks like something Average Joe would wear.
The reflective tracksuit is the first item to be launched and comes just in time for Christmas, but £400 for a tracksuit? Something which you're only going to wear a couple of times, especially, because the colour is so bait... AND £35 for an Adidas Tee, which looks like it has been self-customised with the 'Merky' stamp. This ain't for the culture and it surely ain't worth the price!!!
This tracksuit is for celeb friends who in actuality can get it for free.
Adidas are taking full advantage of Stormzy's platform and Stormzy has signed a deal encouragingyoung people to buy clothing which isn't worth the price they are charging.
Not even Nike had the audacity to charge this amount of money when they collaborated with Kanye West's and created the Nike Air Yeezy's or when they worked with Skepta and made the Nike Air Max 97/BW.
The range will officially launch, November 30th, however you can get some pieces now on the JD Sports website.
