Beatz & Barz: Future's Mask Off

The conflict that this song gives me is distressing. 👀

"Why am I drawn to this song, but yet I do not agree with what the song speaks about?"

I think it's definitely something to do with the 'Metro Boomin' produced beat.

The flute-inspired beat was sampled from Tommy Butler's 1976 song, 'Prison Song' which was featured on the 'Selmaalbum which details the fight led by Martin Luther King for women to have equal voting rights in 1965.

Tommy Butler's song speaks about the suffering black people went through, being locked up and not being able to escape their captors, but yet still having to show graciousness to the people that were abusing them whilst they were incarcerated.
